1. Regardless of the method you use to switch from USB to wireless, do not disconnect the cable from the printer until instructed to do so.
2. If you are using the HP Printer Settings and Software Utility, search for HP from Windows, click your printer name in the list to start the HP Printer Assistant.
3. Click Utilities or Tools on the menu bar displayed at the top, and click Printer Settings & Software or Device Settings & Software.
4. Now to launch the utility, click Convert a USB-connected printer to wireless.
5. If you are changing the network using the HP Smart app from your Windows computer, look for the Make printing easy by wirelessly linking your printer message at the top of the app home screen.
6. Click More Info if you see the message to start the conversion process.
