To perform a CMOS battery reset on your HP printer means that you are removing the battery from your printer. How to Remove CMOS Battery from HP Printer
To remove the CMOS battery from your HP printer, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Turn your HP printer off.
Step 2: Unplug the power cord from the printer.
Step 3: Use a screwdriver to remove the screws at the back of your printer.
Step 4: Open the printer’s front access door.
Step 5: Remove the screws you see in that area.
Step 6: Gently take out the panel at the left area of your printer.
Step 7: Curve the black band cable a bit.
Step 8: Remove the screw you find underneath the plastic cover.
Step 9: Move the plastic protection to the right side carefully.
Step 10: Put your finger at the back of the upper area of the printer’s motherboard where the last screw was removed.
Step 11: Pull out the motherboard carefully by an inch.
Step 12: Take out the CMOS battery gently with one hand while using the other to hold the motherboard.
Once you do the above steps, your HP printer will reset. You will then have to fix the CMOS battery again and reassemble your printer by following the steps in a reverse order to get your printer operational.
